Welcome to
Helping Children & Families Association
The Helping Children and Families Association (HCFA) is a volunteer-based organisation connecting families of young children with resources in the community.
We offer:
* The "Loving Care" volunteer home visiting program, where volunteers spend 2 hrs/week with families who have a children under 6 (or mums about to give birth)
If you are looking for the referral form, it's under the 'Volunteer Home Visiting' tab, 'How does our service work?'
* Our in-house produced Armidale Families Guide (a 28-page glossy booklet jam-packed with information for families)
December 2022:
Thank you to UPC AC Renewables - New England Solar Farm for supporting expansion of our volunteer home visiting program during 2022.
When Hope for the Children, Armidale Network folded and the work was continued by HCFA, a grant that had been obtained for the local work was administered by Uralla Council. At that time, HCFA had a secondary office in Uralla. After the grant funding ended, everything centralized to the office in Armidale. While half of the Management Committee members live in Uralla, along with the Coordinator, the volunteer visiting has diminished in Uralla. This grant will help HCFA to increase awareness of and assistance by volunteers in parts of the Uralla Shire.
Summer's here! Stay safe in the water and the sun and continue looking for the little things to enjoy in each day!
