Helping Children & Families Association
For over fifteen years, Helping Children and Families Association (HCFA), a local volunteer-based organisation has been supporting families with young children and connecting them with resources in the community.
As we approach the end of the 2022 - 2023 financial year, in spite of active work to achieve the strong financial base needed to secure delivery of this service into the years ahead, the question is out...
Is Helping Children and Families Association in danger of closing?
In the past five months, many community members have come forward to help HCFA. We're grateful to know that our community appreciates and wants this service to continue.
How can you help?
1. Vote for Helping Children and Families Association at
https://www.greater.com.au/greaternewengland
2. If you are able to make a tax-decuctible donation before June 30, go
to https://www.givenow.com.au/helpingchildrenandfamilies
Current volunteers within the organisation will continue operations at a bare bones level, ensuring the families we support will continue to receive volunteer visits. Meanwhile, efforts continue to exhaust all avenues for funding so HCFA can continue to grow and service our community.
We offer:
* The "Loving Care" volunteer home visiting program, where volunteers spend 2 hrs/week with families who have children under 6 (or mums about to give birth). The REFERRAL FORM, can be downloaded here or under the 'Volunteer Home Visiting' tab, 'How does our service work?'
* Our in-house produced Armidale Families Guide (a 28-page glossy booklet jam-packed with information for families). The second edition is only available in hard copy. Call into the Armidale Business Centre on Cinder's Lane for a copy.
2023: Thank you to Uralla CWA, Dumaresq Lions Club and private donors for financial support. Will you ensure this service is available in 2024?
2022: Thank you to UPC AC Renewables - New England Solar Farm for a generous grant.
